Dark Sacred Night by Michael Connelly

Dark Sacred Night by Michael Connelly

I have to admit I haven’t read any of Michael Connelly’s books before so when the opportunity came up to read and review Dark Sacred Night I jumped at the chance.

When I read the information sent through by @Tr4cyF3nt0n I was equally excited to see that Michael Connelly is the writer who brought Bosch to life. I knew then that this book is for me and I would enjoy it immensely.

Dark Sacred Night will be published in paperback tomorrow (16th May 2019) by Orion Books.

Daisy Clayton’s killer was never caught. In over ten years, there has been no breakthrough in her murder case.

Detective Renee Ballard has faced everything the LAPD’s notorious dusk-till-dawn graveyard shift has thrown at her. But, until tonight, she’d never met Harry Bosch – an ex-homicide detective consumed by this case.

Soon, she too will become obsessed by the murder of Daisy Clayton.

Because Ballard and Bosch both know: every murder tells a story. And Daisy’s case file reads like the first chapter in an untold tragedy that is still being written – one that could end with Ballard herself, if she cannot bring the truth to light…

My Thoughts of Dark Sacred Night

When Detective Renee Ballard chose to work the graveyard shift she didn’t expect to meet Harry Bosch and encounter the intensity that put not only his life in danger but hers too.

Having watched Bosch I knew that Michael Connelly’s Dark Sacred Night would be for me. Nothing can prepare you for the twists and turns created in this spectacular book.

This gripping crime thriller keeps you turning every page holding your breath in suspense waiting for the next gut wrenching twist to unravel.

Michael Connelly writes with such a style you will not want to put it down. His writing not only draws you in to the crime world but also brings the personalities of the two main characters to life.

By introducing Ballard to us, Michael Connelly has created a character who can hold her own bringing with her excitement, determination, passion amongst other things to get the job done.

Although I know more about Bosch my favourite character in Dark Sacred Night is always going to be Ballard. She kicks butt and will do whatever it takes to take the criminals down. She is not going to be held back!

There are moments in this book that will have your heart beating out of your chest, wanting to shout out ‘Noooooo’ and breathing a sigh of relief.

Do not miss out!

This will not be the last Michael Connelly book I will read. Looking forward to reading more Ballard and Bosch crime thrillers.
